The Danish Central Personal Register (CPR) allows citizens under 18 to change their gender entry.
Until now, the CPR Act reads that a person must be 18 to apply for a new social security number which also indicates his or her gender, Kristeligt Dagblad writes. Whoever wants to have a legal gender change, therefore, must get a new CPR number that matches his or her gender. However, international guidelines oblige Denmark to give minors who, for example, underwent surgical gender reassignment access to a new legal gender as well. That is what the CPR says.
